Japji Sahib Audio Path - Daily Sikh Prayer in Gurmukhi Punjabi.

Japji Sahib is a prayer at the beginning of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib, considered the holy scripture of Sikhs. The composition is credited to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sat Guru in the line of ten Sikh Gurus.

Japji Sahib commences with the Mool Mantra, followed by 38 pauris (stanzas), and concludes with a final Salok.

Regarded as Guru Nanak's inaugural work and an embodiment of Sikh faith, Japji Sahib holds substantial significance among Sikhs. It is deemed one of the primary Banis, or "set of verses," as it leads Nitnem, the daily Sikh prayers.

Particularly notable in this composition is Nanak's contemplation on 'true worship' and the nature of God. Japji Sahib underlines the ineffable nature of God; true worship is defined as revering Nam (inner Word, Sound, Power), realizing God, and perpetually aligning with the Divine Will through the guidance of the True Guru's grace.

In Sikh tradition, Japji is recited during initiation and funeral ceremonies.
